Skids are caused by a specific loss of contact between the tire and road surface — not by tire condition or pressure alone.

2 / 20

Skids happen when tires lose:

Heavy rain that causes water to collect changes stopping distances but does not make stopping or skidding inevitable.

3 / 20

If you experience heavy rain and water begins to collect on the road stopping and lowering the pressure in your tires, especially there is a lot of wear to the treads, will reduce the chance of hydroplaning.

Backing toward the driver’s side improves both visibility and safety — both reasons support the same conclusion.

4 / 20

Why is it advisable to back toward the driver’s side whenever possible?

When backing with a helper the most critical agreed signal is the one that stops all movement immediately.

5 / 20

You and a helper should agree on hand signals before you start backing. What signal is the most important?

Signaling another driver to pass involves taking responsibility for their safety — something a professional driver should not do.

6 / 20

A courteous and professional driver should signal other drivers to pass when it is safe.

Enter a curve slow and use a specific throttle technique on the way through to maintain stability.

A helper compensates for the areas around the vehicle that mirrors and windows cannot cover.

8 / 20

Why should you use a helper when backing?

Mirror checks during a lane change should happen at multiple points not just once before beginning.

Most slippery surface indicators involve moisture or ice — one listed option is a condition that actually reduces slipperiness over time.

Work zones create several real hazards — the exception here is a surface condition that actually improves rather than worsens.

Tips for Getting the Most Out Of Learn Mode

  1. Actively Read the “Why” (Don’t Just Look at “Right/Wrong”)
    • When you receive immediate feedback, the most valuable part is not whether you got it right, but why the correct answer is correct.
  2. Treat Mistakes as Immediate Lessons
    • In Learn Mode, a mistake is not a failure; it is an immediate opportunity to correct a misconception.
  3. Actively Challenge the Distractors
    • Don’t just look for the correct answer; look at the incorrect options (distractors) and understand why they are incorrect.
  4. Re-engage with Content Instantly
    • If the feedback reveals a gap in your knowledge, don’t just click “Next.” Take advantage of the immediacy to look back at the training material while the question is still fresh in your mind.
  5. Take Notes on “Corrective Feedback”
    • Maintain a “mistake log” or note-taking area. When the quiz explains why your answer was wrong, jot down the correct rationale.
  6. Treat It as a “Study Session,” Not a “Test”
    • Because you are getting the answers immediately, there is no need to feel anxious about getting it wrong.
