Inspect

• Continue to fan service brake
• Emergency brake should operate between 20 and 45 psi
• Indicated by the Parking Brake knob popping out
• Must state that air brake test is complete
• Start engine
• Ask examiner to help you exam all your exterior lights

“The low pressure warning did activate properly so I will continue to fan the service brake in order to test the emergency brake. It should engage between 20 and 45 psi. Engagement is indicated by the Parking Brake popping out.”

{Wait for brake to engage then start the engine}

“That completes my air brake test. While the air pressure builds would you go outside and help me check that all the exterior lights are working?”
