- You will have to walk around and enter/exit the bus.
- When exiting the bus you must set the parking brake and place the bus in neutral.
- When entering and exiting you must use the handrail.
- You are only required to inspect the items on the inspection checklist.
- You may use the checklist and mark off each item as you complete it.
- There can be no markings, including a name, on the checklist before starting.
- You must name, point to, and/or touch each item.
- You must explain what you are inspecting each item for.
- You will not have to crawl under the bus
- From the beginning always follow the same order.
- Instead of thinking of each item separately group similar items together in your mind.
- For example, don’t think of it as what you have to inspect for the headlights, then what you have to inspect for the reds. Every light on the bus you will be inspecting for the same thing.
- Get comfortable with one thing at a time.
- The test is not timed so don’t try to hurry.
